My son was very excited when we pulled this out. He said, "I have been WAITING to do this!" He hasn't done much collage, so the concept was a little new to him. It's great for spatial reasoning as he had to figure out how to lay things out to his satisfaction. All around~ enjoyable time sorting and placing~ free-form art is a good exercise for those who tend to be more "regimented" in their activites ("Where should this go?" "Wherever you'd like to put it! What do you think looks like a good place?" ) Definitely good for the earlier preschool crowd.

This was a great art project for my preschooler. She enjoyed the opportunity to have her very own work while older siblings were doing homework. It was a great way for us to work on identifying colors, choosing shapes, etc. and thinking artistically.
