My kids had to learn to figure out how to use the different geometric shapes to build what they wanted to make. They had to figure out how to get get triangles and squares to turn into a bird, or a seal, or a fish. Instructions are provided, but they are a little difficult to follow. My kids were able to use problem-solving skills to figure it out for themselves. If they decided to build something of their own design, they had to be creative about how to turn the triangles and squares into something round or into a structure that would hold together.

I love the tactile pleasure of working with this product. It is pleasurable to stick the magnetic pieces together and then pull them apart again. Whether building a simple structure like a house, or something more complex, like a fish or a seal, there is a joy in feeling them come together. This toy also makes a good fidget object, as they can be put together and pulled apart while focusing on something else.

This toy is great for all ages. Even adults can find pleasure in playing with the magnetic pieces. They are great for developing problem-solving and math skills. The geometric shapes can be used to make patterns, or put together to make other geometric shapes or built into other structures.

I like how they gradually increase to the more complex builds and all directions are included in the kit. The magnets are very solid and durable.

Children practice following directions and employ critical thinking, logic, imagination, reasoning, and 2 and 3 dimensional thinking. It comes with 18 squares and 12 triangles and pattern sheets to use for ideas. The pastel colors can be soothing and relaxing for young learners.
